Walk and Talk Coaching
Does getting some exercise while being coached sound like a good use of your limited time? Then this service is for you. Walk and talk coaching gives you all of the benefits of telephone coaching, while burning calories to boot. How great is that?
Over the years I’ve observed that there’s something about movement, whether it’s running, cycling, walking, cross country skiing, or driving that propels us forward mentally, as well as physically. If you’re like me, some of your best ideas or insights have occurred while you were exercising and supposedly giving your mind a break.
Steven Spielberg, the talented director of great movies like Schindler’s List, says his best ideas come to him as he’s driving and moving down those famous Los Angeles area freeways. Hard to argue with success like his. Whether you’re an aspiring movie director or in another field, you might want to try walk and talk coaching. Some clients tell me that after trying it, they wouldn’t be coached any other way.
Here’s how it works. The first thing we’ll do is hold a discovery session, where I learn where you are, your strengths, the challenges you face and what your goals are. Then once a week for the first three weeks of the month, we’ll meet and go on a walkabout as Australia’s Aboriginals are fond of saying, while I coach you during our 45-minute session. The fourth and occasional fifth week of the month is yours to integrate your learning and to decide where you want to go next. In between sessions, as with all Arbutus Coaching services, you’ll be able to touch base with me by phone or email as needed.
